Soul Limbo

About the song

This is an adaptation of a blues/soul/reggae tune with a Caribbean feel, adding some more Samba-like instrumentation.

It's based on the 60s original by Booker T and the MGs: here they are with a loose live redition

The verse/chorus structure is changed into a basic rhythm/break form.
Breaks may be signalled by the apito, with or without hand signals.

Although our Samba learning is largely experiential, as this one's driven by a tune, I've included a copy of the score for all the instruments for those who might find it useful.

A good starting point is to listen to the whole tune and return to the separate sections later as required.
